Meeting point and exchange of know-how for designing integrated models of sustainable business development
The emergence of business sustainability as a new culture that defines modern business practices and trends worldwide and the exploration of opportunities, opportunities, and threats for the birth and growth of the business concept emerging through the circular economy model in each of the areas of production were the goals achieved in this year’s GRBossible .
The festival was held under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism , the Municipality of Athens , the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Alexandria Innovation Zone at the Athens Cultural Center on 29 and 30 November with free admission for visitors .
During the course, attendees visited startups in the showroom, attended and actively participated in experiential entrepreneurship workshops , in-person business mentoring sessions on how to effectively run a business, and in the conference on ” Business Sustainability “.
The start of the conference on the first and second days was marked by the friendly greeting of Skywalker.gr’s Business Continuity Manager Mr. Dimitris Fintani , who emphasized the need for respect in our ecosystem not only for ourselves but also for ourselves. towards others in order to ‘nourish’ sustainable partnerships.
In his address, Mr. Nikolaos A. Makropoulos , spokesman for the Mayor of Athens, Deputy Mayor of Entrepreneurship Development & Investment, emphasized that new entrepreneurship is the foundation for the future as the growth model changes.
“The Productive Model of the Circular Economy vs the Conventional Linear Model” was presented in the first panel by speakers Barbara Vassilakis , Innovation Advisor, Enterprise Europe Network-Hellas, National Center for Documentation & Electronic Content (ESF), Suzanne Laskarycle, founder , Ms. Bougain , CEO, co-founder, Sustainable Food Movement Greece, and founder, Foodity, and moderated by Ms. Christiana Pirasmakis , MBA, Vice President ECOCITY, which has highlighted the need for local community involvement and the significant contribution of the younger generation, as young people introduce and consolidate change. Mrs Barbara Vasilakispresented the action of the National Documentation Center on Circular Economics, as it is a bridge for the transfer of know-how between businesses, research and start-ups. The SME Instrument program, which aims to develop and finance start-ups in the sharing economy, is working towards the same goal. For her part, Ms. Suzana Laskaridis emphasized the importance of a holistic approach to productive activity, which is being implemented with the Blue Cycle project, a blueprint for the blue economy that creates a new cycle for plastics used in fishing and shipping. Lastly, Ms. Bea Bugani developed the concept of a social and solidarity economy as a value base for the circular economy, as well as the need to change our mindset and transfer our personal values to the basis of supply to society and the environment.
The panel on “Sharing economy”, co-ordinated by Mr. Argyris Karavoulias , President of Zvexis COINSEP, was attended by Ms. Ioanna Chatzindavidou , Chief Content Officer of Carma, Mr. Babis Moraitis , a representative of the UAE . secretary of the Athens Chamber of Commerce, Ms Mara Angelidou , co-founder, FoodTreasure, and Ms Theodora Dimas , president of the Sharing Economy Association (SODA). Mrs Ioanna Chatzivtavidoutalked about the great benefit and great satisfaction of the users, who through the utilization of technology can interact with each other in a direct, efficient and economical way. It has also developed Carma’s project on sharing economy, where users can rent a vehicle through its platform for as long as they wish. In his presentation, Mr. Babis Moraitis referred to the necessity of cooperation and dialogue with all the institutions, as well as the establishment of a legal framework with clear roles that will not affect the business model, but also the contribution of the EMEA to its new business model. sharing economy with the right network, guiding and financing new businesses. MsMara Angelidou , representing FoodTreasure and Staramaki projects, talked about the model of a multicycle economy, which serves as a model for holistic collaboration between businesses and is the basis for changing the perceptions and consumer behavior of the purchasing public. The first day of the conference ended with the panel “Circular Economy and Jobs: Opportunity or Threat?” With moderator Yiannis Georgiou , journalist, Athenian-Macedonian News Agency, and speakers. Nektarios Hatzakis , general manager at Green Hellas, Dimitris Homatidis , Green Fund spokesman, environmental engineer MSc, environmental officer, LIFE Task Force, and Xenophon Kappa , b. Director, Captain Vasilis & Carmen Constantakopoulou Foundation. Mr. Dimitris Homatidisreferred to the European Union’s exclusive LIFE program, which finances projects aimed at protecting the environment and tackling climate change. Traditional project projects are open to the public, NGOs, businesses, research centers and universities and stressed that the forthcoming waste management legislation will create new specialized jobs. The recycling of food and hazardous waste can prove to be extremely lucrative, said Nektarios Hadjakis , while developing the example of Green Hellas, which collects expired products and feeds fur after composting. Mr. Xenophon Kappasdeveloped the actions of the Captain Vassilis & Carmen Constantakopoulou Foundation to increase the consumption of local products in Messinia with the ultimate goal of sustainable development of the region. He pointed out that Greece is among the top 10 countries that has set a national strategy on the environment, in which the new business model will have a positive job balance.
The second day of the conference included a panel of speakers on green and sustainable development, business sustainability and new models of entrepreneurship and consumption.
After being greeted by Mr. Dimitri seedlings followed a few minutes of his speech, Mr. Nicholas Lysigaki , head of the Office of Secretary of State Development & Investment m. Christos Dimas, who stood in the efforts made by the Ministry in order to fill the gaps between research and innovation, and in its next step in creating a startup registry, a self-managed system where stakeholders will update their data.
The panel on “Green and Sustainable Development” and moderated by Mr. Gregory Tappinos , Senior Partner of Key Consultants, began with the presentation of Mr. Yiannis Tsironis , former Deputy Minister of Rural Development & Food, a member of the Green Party. emphasized the need to find measures that ensure sustainability and prosperity, and that it is a priority for all of us to discover the future that exists in our present. Mr. Basil Papadopoulos spoke on behalf of Prosper Hellas, shareholder and founder, Prosper Hellas, NTUA civil engineer, who, after referring to the inevitable contamination of the environment caused by today’s continued development, proposed additional measures such as legislation, categorization and hazardous pollutants, environmental information campaigns, and innovation etc. Following was the presentation of Ms Elizabeth-Eirini Michaelidou, founder of Elismadeit and co-founder of COINSEP HOURS, through which the public got to know Zero Waste, which is about finding ways to reuse our already used daily products to systematically reduce and eliminate volume , which threaten the health and thus the well-being of the planet. The first panel ended with the speech of Ms Constantine Georgiadou , marketing manager of tuk tuk Hellas, who introduced the electric tuk tuk. According to her, it is a very environmentally friendly vehicle that contributes to green sustainability, while its use through tours demonstrates the innovative trends of the time and enriches consumer experiences.
Prior to the start of the second part of the conference, the keynote address by Mr. Konstantinos Arabos , spokesman for the Prime Minister and Secretary-General for the Environment and Water, who spoke on business sustainability, highlighted the need for discovery and »Ways to make use of renewable energy. He deepened the value of the circular economy and referred to the countermeasures the ministry is taking to support it.
The second panel was entitled “New Entrepreneurship Models / New Consumer Models” and moderated by Mr. Dimitris Michailides, journalist at “Agronoe”. Mr Kyriakos Loufakis , president of the Alexandria Innovation Zone, stressed that the country should focus on research and innovation, in particular supporting its greatest asset, other than human capital. Then Ms. Melina Taprantzi spoke, founder of Wise Greece, who praised the value of Greek production despite all the procedural difficulties of everyday life and the financial problems there. He said that in addition to well-known Greek products, such as oil, honey and herbs, our country also produces many innovative products that highlight Greek flavors. Mr. Lyad Kayali , CEO, Ecotourism Greece, talked about the concept of sustainable tourism, stressing that it is time to change the perception of the tourism industry that the season ends in late summer. The panel was concluded with the presentation of Mr. Luca Brecha, president of the Social Solidarity & Regional Development Network, who spoke about the value of cooperative offerings and especially cooperative education.
The closing of the festival on Saturday, November 30th featured the presentation of Dimitris Michaelides ‘s book ” Thoughts on Local Development “, a text-based overview on the subject, released by Stentoras, preceding awards ceremony and awards.
